Dr. Mackie's research focuses on: 1) developing an evidence base to facilitate effective transition from pediatric to adult health care among adolescents with chronic health conditions, including but not limited to congenital heart disease, 2) evaluating the epidemiology of infective endocarditis, and 3) describing temporal changes in health care resource utilization among children and adults with congenital heart disease.
Dr. Mackie is the Program Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Residency Training Program at the Stollery Children's Hospital/ University of Alberta.
Dr. Mackie leads the Stollery Cardiac Outcomes REsearch (SCORE) team, staffed by research coordinators (Dr. Kathryn Rankin, Ms. Elina Williams, Ms. Basmina Aminzadah), a biostatistician (Dr. Sunjidatul Islam), and an administrative assistant (Ms. Thelma Mboko).
