About Me

I am an Occupational Medicine specialist and I graduated from Nantes Medical School (2009). I have completed my residency at Angers University Hospital (France, 2013) and I hold degrees in Addiction Medicine and Industrial Toxicology. I have been trained in Industrial psychology, in CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers) in Paris, France.

While working as an Occupational Medicine specialist at Brest University Hospital, in France (2013 – 2019), I provided clinical service to the Occupational Health Service (OHS) available to Hospital staff. I have also provided clinical service to the Occupational Diseases Center and served as head of the center (2018 – 2019). I have set up with the help of residents in Occupational Medicine, a mobile team in Occupational Diseases for inpatients, hospitalized in the departments of Oncology and Hematology, to identify professional exposures that may allow them to benefit from compensations.

My research activity is related to work-related mental diseases, and cancers. I participated to the elaboration of the French guidelines on burnout management (National Authority for Health, 2017), and the report on Occupational Cancers released by the French Network for monitoring and prevention of occupational diseases (rnv3p).

I have supervised several MD dissertations of residents in Occupational Medicine, now in independent practice in France. All of these have led to peer-reviewed publications. I have contributed to a variety of teaching experiences in Medicine (Undergraduate, Post-Graduate and Continuing Medical Education) as well as in other fields (Occupational Hygiene, Nurses, Physiotherapists...). I have been appointed as a lecturer at Brest University (2013 - 2019) and I have been an invited lecturer at Haiphong Medical University (Vietnam, 2015 - 2018)

I have a record of leadership positions at a national and an international level, including chair of the working group on work-related mental diseases in the Network for monitoring and prevention of occupational diseases (rnv3p) between 2017 and 2019. I am currently Co-Chair of the scientific group on Work Organizational and Psychosocial Factors, of ICOH (International Commission on Occupational Health). I sit in the editorial boards of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Santé et Travail

I have joined the University of Alberta and the Division of Preventive Medicine in 2019. I provide clinical service in the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic, in the Kaye Edmonton Clinic. I am running research projects on work-related mental disorders and occupational cancers. I am appointed as the Program Director for the Occupational Medicine Residency Program. I am more than happy to answer any resident interested in our program, and explaining why this subspecialty is so exciting!
