Each year, the University of Alberta welcomes its alumni back to campus to reconnect with former classmates,
their alma mater and all of the great initiatives happening at the university.

Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry Alumni Weekend Event Listings

Starting Friday, September 22, the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry will host numerous activities for our alumni, including a BBQ lunch and after-work TGIF event, and continuing on Saturday with a history lecture, luncheon, tours of our state-of-the-art facilities plus more.

Note: Any events that include a cost or have limited availability have a separate registration link to obtain tickets. All other events are free. Please register to take part.

Kick Off BBQ

Join the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, for a BBQ lunch and visit with fellow FoMD faculty, staff, students and alumni.

When: 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Where: Southside of ECHA

 

TGIF (Thank Goodness It’s Friday)

Return to campus for a long standing tradition in the FoMD. The Dean’s office is inviting all FoMD faculty, staff, students and alumni to join us for after-work  beverages, snacks and a chance to mix and mingle. Cash bar.

One Hundred Year Gala Dinner (Dentistry  Centennial)

Mark the School of Dentistry’s 100 year anniversary at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald for the Centennial Gala. The night will be a special occasion to get together with old and new colleagues and celebrate being a part of the history of the School of Dentistry.

Learn about the fascinating history of our Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry from faculty historian, Amy Samson (PhD) and award-winning author of Extracted Tales from a Century of Dentistry, Taylor Lambert. Open to all.

Enjoy a delicious lunch and hear about the exciting work happening in the FoMD.

Medical Laboratory Science Alumni Tea & Student Lab Tours

Renew old friendships by joining your fellow classmates at this MLS tea. Tour the lab facilities commencing at 2:30 p.m.

Tour the Kaye Edmonton Clinic to see  the state-of-the-art facilities of the School of Dentistry.

Tour Acute Critical Events Sim Lab HSERC

Experience the simulation spaces in the Health Sciences Education and Research Commons (HSERC). These facilities include a critical care suite, universal patient room, specialty care suite, the Smart Condo and 24 clinical exam rooms. Learn more about the programs and education offered.

Dental Hygiene Alumni Chapter Reunion Reception
Reconnect with your fellow classmates at this celebration reception hosted by your Dental Hygiene Alumni Chapter. Complimentary appetizers and refreshments will be served, and gifts for alumni celebrating special anniversaries will be presented.

Golden Grads Dinner

Salute your graduating class with style. All Golden Grads (graduates from 1977 and earlier) and their guests are invited to the Shaw Conference Centre for fine dining and fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Reminisce with classmates and fellow alumni, make time for new conversations and memories

 The Past and Future of Dentistry

When: 9:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.    Where: University of Alberta - North Campus

Continuing Dental Education is offering a special Centennial course about the Past and Future of Dentistry. Explore the importance of dentistry from the past with Anthropology, to the future of technology and where the industry is headed. Registration is only $25.
