The ability to critically appraise the literature is an essential skill for all family physicians. In the Family Medicine Residency Program, all first year residents are required to conduct several Brief Evidence-Based Assessments of Research (BEARs), which were first implemented during the 2005/2006 academic year.

The faculty advisor will provide guidance and consultation throughout the duration of the project.
