We enthusiastically invite you to submit abstracts that pertain to the mission of the Learning Communities Institute for the annual Learning Communities Institute (LCI) conference at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Kansas City.

We are accepting abstracts in the following categories:
❖ Foundational Skills (e.g. feedback, clinical skills teaching, mentoring/advising, coaching)
❖ Innovations (e.g. wellness, peer mentoring, students as teachers, community building, professional identity formation, assessment, evaluation, faculty development, recruitment & retention of LC faculty, tools of the trade)
❖ Research/ Outcomes
➢ Workshops (90-minute interactive sessions)
➢ Oral Presentations (traditional brief oral presentations)

IAMSE20 in Denver: Call for Pre-Conference Workships
International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) now start accepting proposals for Saturday Professional Development Workshops for the 2020 IAMSE meeting. The 2020 annual meeting will be held in Denver, Colorado, USA from June 13 - 16, 2020.
Proposals will be accepted through July, 1, 2019. The committee will review all proposals and select 3-4 full day workshops and 6-8 half day workshops for the meeting.
IAMSE Saturday Professional Development Workshops focus on Career/Professional Development, and the workshops should be useful for advancing the career of the attendee. The broad umbrella areas of focus for these workshops include:
• Leadership/Advancement as a Medical Educator
Saturday Professional Development Workshops proposals must include the following information:
• Title of the workshop
• Name and e-mail of Organizer
• Facilitator(s) information
• Summary of the workshop and how it will advance the career of the attendee
• Length of Workshop
• Level of the workshop (Introductory/intermediate/advanced)
• Who should participate

International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) one-day Conference
The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) is pleased to announce the call for focus sessions for the special, one-day IAMSE conference to be held in conjunction with the 2020 Ottawa Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on February 28, 2020. The IAMSE conference offers opportunities for faculty development and networking, bringing together medical sciences and medical education across the continuum of health care education. The venue for the conference will be the Shangri-La Hotel.
The purpose of a 90-minute Focus Session is to “focus in” on a specific topic in small group discussion format. Groups of 10-50 individuals consider a particular topic in an interactive format. Formats can be variable. Additional information about Focus Session formats can be found on the submission page.
All abstracts must be submitted in the format requested through the online abstract submission site found here. More information about the one-day conference can be found on the IAMSE annual conference page.
Submission deadline is March 30, 2019. Abstract acceptance notifications will be returned by May 1, 2019.

The call for submissions for the 5th International Faculty Development Conference, which will be held on September 23rd - 25th, 2019, in Ottawa, in conjunction with the ICRE meeting of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, is now open. AAMC 2019 Integrating Quality Conference Call for Abstracts Now Open
Now open is AAMC’s call for abstracts for presentations, interactive workshops, and posters that showcase effective strategies to accelerate systems improvements in quality, patient safety, and high-value care across the academic medicine missions of care delivery, health professions education, and research. The Integrating Quality Conference will address efforts to achieve health equity and will be held June 6-7, 2019 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The call for abstracts closes Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:59 PM (ET).
LEAD Certificate Program Application Now Open
The AAMC is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 LEAD Certificate Program, through January 18, 2019. Designed for early to mid-career faculty, LEAD is a one-year, cohort-based program that provides a firm foundation in the best practices and theoretical models of effective educational leadership that are key to advancing medical education at all levels. Medical Council of Canada (MCC) The Medical Council of Canada (MCC) offers research grants to interested faculty members, staff members or graduate students of Canadian medical faculties.
Canadian Institutes of Health Research The Project Grant program is designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential for important advances in fundamental or applied health-related knowledge, health care, health systems, and/or health outcomes by supporting projects with a specific purpose and a defined endpoint. The best ideas may stem from new, incremental, innovative, and/or high-risk lines of inquiry or knowledge translation approaches.
Educational scholarship Grant Applications The goal is to encourage and support scholarship in medical science education. IAMSE will award multiple research grants up to the amount of $5000 for a 2-year grant period. Due date is Jan 15.
National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) The goal of the Stemmler Fund is to provide support for research or development of innovative assessment approaches that will enhance the evaluation of those preparing to, or continuing to, practice medicine.
