Follow the checklist to begin the application process for the MD Program.
The application process for the Doctor of Medicine Program begins the year prior to that in which you seek admission. Please use the following checklist to ensure you meet the criteria for application and that your application is completed appropriately. Should you miss any requirements or deadlines your application may be considered incomplete, resulting in the closure of your file.
Ready to Apply? Use this checklist to start your application:
- Applications open July 1, 2023
- Register for or sign into your apply.ualberta.ca account
- Click 'Start New Application' and Select Undergraduate 2024/2023, then 2024/2025 Professional Programs
- Complete the first four pages of the University of Alberta Application for Admission in their entirety, then select Degree Student, Fall (September), 2024, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Doctor of Medicine on the Program Selection page
- Complete and submit your Application for Admission
- Complete all required checklist items and forms in your UAlberta Launchpad
- Release your MCAT scores
- Check your UAlberta Launchpad to ensure the verification of your MCAT scores and receipt of your references
- Register for and complete all additional testing, specifically the CASPer, ensuring that you release your scores
- Check your UAlberta Launchpad for calculation of your cGPA
- If you haven't already obtained your baccalaureate degree, check with your faculty to ensure that you are meeting the requirements to complete your program; apply to graduate if you haven't already
