This part of the Community Engagement portfolio is encompassed by the role of the Local Officers of Global Health Education.
All medical students interested in completing an international elective through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry’s Division of Community Engagement are required to complete pre-departure training, global health elective sessions, and post-departure debriefing. Students who receive funding from the Faculty for CFMS exchanges are also required to participate. The coordination of these events is assisted by the Local Officers of Global Health Education, and many of them are offered in the form of a Community Engagement Global Health Education / International Health elective.
