“We are professionals and we will have lapses. Let’s empower ourselves to effectively deal with them.”
-Dr. Samina Ali MD; Past Assistant Dean of Professionalism
Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta
As future physicians, medical students should strive to display the highest level of professionalism in all encounters. Medical student behaviour reflects upon the professional character of the individual student but also upon the medical school and the profession as a whole. In all interactions, whether in a clinical setting, the classroom or in public, students should commit to the code of values, expectations and conduct as detailed in the Professional Standards for Students in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
