On January 14, 2020, Microsoft released software fixes to address highly severe and critical vulnerabilities. Exploiting these vulnerabilities can lead to attackers remotely compromising host computers and servers.
As a result, the University Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is strongly recommending the implementation of these Microsoft patches. If you are supported by MedIT, your University computers will receive these updates automatically. In some of these cases, a reboot is required, so please do restart your computer(s) if you are prompted to be sure the updates are fully deployed. If you are not supported by MedIT or are unsure, contact us or your supervisor to ensure the updates are deployed.
Furthermore, you should be applying these software fixes to your personal and home computers too.
Thank you for your diligence!
