Explore the drop downs below to learn more about your U of A email, what a ONEcard does for you, AHS Pager, and Parking at the various health centres.
Email

Each trainee that registers with the University of Alberta is provided with a Campus Computing ID (CCID) and password. Activation instructions are provided with the CCID.

Students and postgraduate learners must have access to their University of Alberta email account at all times. Learners are considered at fault for all consequences (ie. missed deadlines) that may result from not checking their university email account.

Further instructions and assistance are on the IST Electronic Help Desk.

ONEcard

The ONEcard is the identification card at the University of Alberta. All staff, faculty, students, and postgraduate learners are eligible for a ONEcard. To obtain the card, postgraduate learners must provide photo identification and their student ID number.

ONEcards are more than a form of ID at the U of A:

  • They provide access to the library systems.
  • They act as proof of enrolment for those trying to access campus recreation facilities.
  • They manage printing and photocopying credits.
  • They are also used as debit cards for food and bookstore purchases at select retailers throughout campus.

Production of ONEcards will take place at resident orientation. If any students are unable to collect their ONEcard at this time, they can visit the ONEcard Office at a later date. The ONEcard office is located in HUB Mall, room 9104.

More information can be found on the ONEcard website.

Pagers

Each resident is given a pager for communication purposes. These pagers are on loan from Alberta Health Services (AHS) and are distributed during orientation or can be picked up from the PGME office. Prior to leaving the training program, trainees must return their pagers to the Postgraduate Medical Education Office (2-76 Zeidler Ledcor).

The user of the pager assumes all responsibility and liability for its safekeeping and return. If a pager is lost, misplaced, or damaged, the user agrees to pay a $50.00 replacement fee. This fee is payable to Alberta Health Services at the Casher's office.

An initial deposit is not required for the pagers. Replacement fees are only charged to those residents who lose or damage their pagers. This fee is non-refundable.
