Course Aim

Radiation Therapists (RTs) are increasingly working in an MR environment with the increasing use of MR-linear accelerators and/or MR-simulators.  The safety hazards and risks associated with MRI are very different from those typically associated with ionizing radiation. The American College of Radiology recommends that all personnel working in an MRI environment should complete MRI Safety Training on an annual basis.  This course covers the main hazards associated with an MRI environment within a radiation therapy department and how to identify and manage potential risks for personnel and patients.
