Each student or trainee that registers with the University of Alberta is provided with a Campus Computing ID (CCID) and password. Activation instructions are provided with the CCID. Once the account is activated, the user will have access to their University GPU.

These GPU are the primary communication tool between the University of Alberta and its learners. Email messages will be sent directly to the GPU accounts, including any notices of awards, general announcements, etc.

Students and postgraduate learners must have access to their University of Alberta email account at all times. If students wish to use different email addresses, it is their responsibility to ensure their GPU account is forwarding incoming emails to their personal account. Learners are considered at fault for all consequences (ie. missed deadlines) that may result from not checking their University email account.
