The Applied Genomics Core Personnel

Jessica Hamilton
Technologist, The Applied Genomics Core

Jessica Hamilton is a Technologist at The Applied Genomics Core (TAGC). She obtained her BSc in Conservation Biology from the University of Alberta. Before coming to TAGC she was a Scientist with Delta Genomics, a not-for-profit genomics service provider. Since joining TAGC, Jessica has expanded her skill set to include Sanger Sequencing, real time PCR, and Next Generation Sequencing services.

TAGC provides a variety of molecular biology services including real time PCR, animal genotyping, Qubit and Bioanalyzer quantification of both DNA and RNA, and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) services (including library preparation and MiSeq sequencing).

Sudip Subedi
Technologist, The Applied Genomics Core

Sudip Subedi is a Technologist in the The Applied Genomics Core (TAGC). He obtained his B. Tech in Biotechnology from Kathmandu University, Nepal and MSc in Experimental Oncology from the University of Alberta under the supervision of Dr. Michael Weinfeld. His graduate research study focused on dissecting the role of Polynucleotide Kinase/Phosphatase, a DNA repair protein, in maintaining nuclear and mitochondrial DNA integrity. His first brush with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) was while working for DNA Power Inc., a Vancouver-based company that specializes in Personal Genetics, back in 2015. Sudip joined TAGC in 2016 where he has continued to work with Illumina-based NGS platforms in addition to garnering a skill set in other techniques such as Sanger sequencing, rodent genotyping, RT-PCR and Oxford Nanopore (MinIon) Sequencing.

TAGC offers a variety of molecular biology services such as RT-PCR, rodent genotyping, quantitative/qualitative quality control of nucleic acids using Qubit, Bioanalyzer and QIAxcel instruments, and NGS services, including library generation, Illumina MiSeq sequencing, and Oxford Nanopore sequencing.
