Peter Burns
Supervisor, Workshop

Peter Burns is the Workshop Supervisor in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (FoMD) Workshop. He obtained his Electronics and Engineering Technology Diploma with Honors from NAIT in 2014 and a Bachelor of Engineering Technologies: Electronics and Controls from Cape Breton University. Before joining the University of Alberta, he was an Electro-Optics Technician with Alberta Nano-Monitoring Systems. Since joining the U of A in 2017, he has expanded his skill set in understanding the mechanical side of equipment. Peter was the Workshop Technician from 2017 to 2023. 

The Workshop provides a number of services, including repair of lab equipment and biosafety cabinets, metal and acrylic fabrication, woodworking, welding, and machining.
