The Applied Genomics Core in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta

The Applied Genomics Core (TAGC)

Facility Overview

We are a group of technologists committed to excellence with the mandate of supporting researchers in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and elsewhere on technical aspects of next generation sequencing (NGS) techniques including genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and related fields, as well as the bioinformatics required for the analysis of resulting data.

Over the last decade we have acquired vast experience in metagenomics, transcriptomics (including miRNAs and lincRNAs), genomics, and in the related computational analytical techniques. Find detailed description on our Services page.

We also offer traditional molecular biology services including real time PCR, Sanger sequencing, and animal genotyping.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss the design of your experiments, need a quote, require analysis of your existing data or just want to discuss your research initiatives and how we can support them.
