Quality Management in Clinical Research (QMCR)


Service Description:

The QMCR is an oversight mechanism for human research activities conducted at the University of Alberta.

The main aims of the QMCR are providing quality improvement, quality control and quality assurance for research activities at the University of Alberta. Promoting research excellence and providing leadership on regulatory and ethical requirements achieve those aims. The QMCR also monitors Principal Investigator-initiated studies, and audits and evaluates human research endeavors at the University of Alberta.

QMCR in association with Internal Audit Services

Service’s Client Group:

Currently QMCR directs its audit and monitoring services toward clinical trials where the University of Alberta is considered the sponsor organization, but will also perform directed audits of any clinical research and provide advisory services to all clinical research staff.
