Resources for Faculty Members

Women and Children's Health Research Institute

Service description:

WCHRI offers a broad range of services to help researchers develop high quality, competitive funding applications, produce high-quality research results, and staff projects with trained, high-calibre personnel. WCHRI’s Clinical Research Informatics Core (CRIC) offers software programs to its researchers to help them capture, manage and validate data. The CRIC team can help researchers choose the most effective program for their project and use it to its full potential.

REDCap is a secure, web-based application for building and managing online surveys and databases. It’s easy to use and provides enhanced functionality such as data quality management tools and participant randomization.

Checkbox Survey Server is a sophisticated tool for developing and managing web based surveys. Data is stored locally in the Faculty’s data centre. As a result, Checkbox offers a secure alternative to tools such as Survey Monkey which are subject to the U.S. Patriot Act.

ePRO (Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes) manages longitudinal data collection directly from study subjects. Interfacing directly to Checkbox Survey Server, it issues assessment invitations and reminders according to predefined study schedules while also tracking participant responses.
