Dean's Lecture Series

The Dean’s Lecture Series provides funding to support the visit of internationally recognized leaders in any area of research of relevance to the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. This funding is available to departments and institutes only.  Each department or institute is eligible to bring in one speaker per year.  The Visiting Speaker fund will support costs associated with selected visits to the University of Alberta. Applications for approval and funding are administered by the Office of Research, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Walter Mackenzie Visiting Speaker Fund

The Visiting Speaker Fund is sponsored by the Walter Mackenzie Visiting Professorship Endowment and is administered by the Office of Research, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. The Visiting Speaker Fund will support costs associated with selected visits to the University of Alberta by established scientists with excellent records in biomedical and health research. Funds for this program are limited and not all qualified Visiting Speakers will receive funding for their visits. Decisions of the Visiting Speaker Committee are final. The Applicants hosting the visit are expected to seek other sources of support in addition to applying to this fund.

All funded visits must comply with UA policies on Travel, Expense Reimbursement and Hospitality (UAPPOL). A copy of the expense claim and all original receipts must be submitted to the Office of Research (2-13 HMRC, Attn: Andrea Smart) for validation before submission on PeopleSoft.
