  • Large Infrastructure Grants

    2018-2020 Canadian Foundation for Innovation: Innovation Fund

    Funding transformative infrastructure projects that will underpin cutting-edge, globally competitive research; enhance research capacity by forging productive partnerships within and among institutions, sectors and disciplines for the infrastructure; generate social, health, environmental and/or economic benefits for Canadians, including better training and improved skills for highly qualified personnel.

    Dec 22, 2017: Deadline for PIs to register their interest here. Note that registration is required for PIs to receive further information on the competition.
    Dec 2017-Feb 2018: Optional team-building, strategic, and facilitation meetings
    Feb 16, 2018: Letters of intent due for FoMD adjudication
    June 8, 2018: Deadline to submit a revised LOI to the FoMD
    August 15, 2018: Deadline to submit mini-proposal to the RSO

    Fall 2018-Winter 2019: Anticipated call announcement by CFI (not confirmed)

  • Team Operating and Network Grants

    CIHR Operating Grant: SPOR iCT (Innovative Clinical Trials) Rewarding Success

    Canada is spending an increasing proportion of its gross domestic product on health care. This opportunity will fund multidisciplinary research teams and their partners to enhance value-based care, health system sustainability, and health outcomes. The research team and their partners will design, implement, and evaluate interventions in healthcare delivery organization(s) that aim to produce healthcare cost savings and/or improved health system efficiency.

    Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE)

    “Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCEs) are large-scale, academic-led virtual research centres that bring together multi-disciplinary partners from academia, industry, government and not-for-profit organizations. Networks perform research and development and “translation-commercialization” activities, and enable Canadian researchers and students to work with receptor communities to accelerate the creation and application of knowledge.”

  • National Training Network Grants

    2020 NSERC CREATE Program Competition

    The CREATE program funds innovative training programs that prepare HQP for the Canadian workforce. Grants are $1.65M over 6 years, 80% of which is for trainee stipends. The University has a fixed number of applications it may submit, and conducts an annual selection process.
