Ijeoma Sylvia Madueke

I obtained my PhD in French Language, Literatures and Linguistics from the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies, University of Alberta. I have been teaching French in the department since 2015 as a full instructor. My PhD research focused on the history, process, and strategies of translating, publishing and disseminating Nigerian literature in France. Some of my research interests on which I have published articles are Anglophone African women writing in translation, translated literature as a tool for cultural diplomacy, and agents of translation. My other research interests include Black Canadian literature and translation and questions related to diversity and representation in literary publishing and translation. My most recent publication is titled Translating Across the Imperial Divide.
