"Light/Matter: Art at the Intersection of Photography and Printmaking"

The University of Alberta Museums is proud to collaborate with the Department of Art and Design to present Light/Matter: Art at the Intersection of Photography and Printmaking.

Light/Matter: Art at the Intersection of Photography and Printmaking calls for a re-evaluation of the photo-print movement that began in the mid-twentieth century. Light/Matter brings nearly 100 ground-breaking works by 40 artists from 16 countries, together to demonstrate how their works are clear evidence of the impact of the photo-print movement and how we see and interpret images.

Light/Matter presents the essence of historical graphic traditions and brings it into conversations with contemporary theory and critical thinking in visual culture.

This exhibition originated at Indiana University - the University of Alberta is the second institution to host this exhibition through both the University of Alberta Museums - Gallery A and FAB Gallery.
