We are delighted to announce that Professor Debbie Cairns has been elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Professor Cairns is one of our outstanding Faculty members and has played a vital part in our Choral Study area since 1989. She is one of four University of Alberta Professors that the society has chosen to elect this year in appreciation of their scholarly expertise and academic contributions. Election into the Royal Society of Canada is a tremendous honour and considered to be a milestone achievement in one's academic career.

Professor Cairns is now one of 115 U of A inductees to gain this level of recognition within the RSC, which was founded in 1882 and is the oldest and most distinguished scholarly institute in Canada.

Congratulations Professor Cairns, and best wishes for your continued success in years to come!
