Our Partners

The NMHI is proud to collaborate with our partner organizations. As advocates for neuroscience and mental health research, we are all passionate about making, sharing and applying discoveries about brain health.

Campus Alberta Neuroscience (CAN)

Thanks to timely and strategic investments, and some of the best researchers in the world, Alberta has three strong university centres for neuroscience: Calgary's Hotchkiss Brain Institute, Edmonton's Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute, and Lethbridge's Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience. CAN bring us together and we are grateful for their support and facilitation.

Canadian Association for Neuroscience

The Canadian Association for Neuroscience (CAN) represents neuroscientists in Canada who are dedicated to advancing brain research. Our association is composed of approximately one thousand researchers, who work at academic institutions across the country. We share the common goal of ensuring neuroscience remains one of the greatest research and innovation strengths of Canada.

The Strategic Clinical Networks and Research Centres

Many of our members lead clinical networks or research centres where focused and translational research is taking place to help discover treatment and prevention for diseases and disorders of the brain.

Patient Focused Organizations

At the NMHI, translational research is essential. This means that discoveries lead (or translate) to clinical practice. In order for research to move from the lab bench to the patient's bedside, we rely on these incredible organizations who are in the community, changing lives every day.
