The keynote lecture was presented by Dr. Karl Deisseroth. Dr. Deisseroth is an associate professor of bioengineering and psychiatry at Stanford University and has published in highly regarded journals as a pioneer in the budding field of optogenetics. His lab focuses on developing optical neuroengineering technologies for noninvasive imaging and control of brain circuits.
