Graduate Student Position (PhD) with Dr. Christian Beaulieu

PhD Position in Neuroscience or Biomedical Engineering

Duration: 4 years
Start date: Fall 2019

We are currently accepting applications for a PhD position to work with Dr. Christian Beaulieu at the University of Alberta and Dr. Catherine Lebel at the University of Calgary. This position is based in Edmonton and jointly supervised by Drs. Beaulieu and Lebel.

This is an exciting project using MRI to examine brain alterations in children and youth with prenatal alcohol exposure. The student will be involved in data collection (brain MRI and cognitive/mental health assessments in children and youth), data analysis, and writing manuscripts for publication. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with neuroimaging, data processing, and cognitive and/or mental health assessments is an asset.

Dr. Beaulieu is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Alberta, and an expert in diffusion magnetic resonance imaging techniques. Dr. Lebel is an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Radiology at the University of Calgary with extensive experience investigating structural and functional brain development in childhood.
