The Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute has very restricted funding for graduate students. NMHI typically accepts students who have scholarships from outside funding agencies or have arrangements with their potential supervisor who agrees to fund a student for the first one to two years or until the student is able to secure a scholarship.
These arrangements with potential supervisors do not need to be in place before applying to the program.
Neuroscience graduate students are eligible to receive numerous University of Alberta and external funding agency scholarships. It is the student’s responsibility to investigate all scholarships available. Students are expected to apply for scholarships. For more information please visit the graduate scholarships section.
