Refugee Support

“Every individual who is given a way out and offered a different, brighter future becomes part of a changing story.” — President David Turpin

Since its founding in 1908, the University of Alberta has committed to “uplifting the whole people,” a promise that transcends individual scholarship and discovery and reflects the role our students, faculty, staff and alumni have in building communities and leaders locally and globally. The U of A is a driver of personal and social transformation; as such, we offer a range of supports to help immigrant and displaced refugees study here and overcome economic, social and political hardship.
