The Faculty of Nursing is a vibrant community with a rich history. Ranked as one of the top nursing faculties in Canada and one of the largest in the country, we highly value collegial support – providing opportunities for academic growth and development in teaching, research and professional practice. We aim to be among the top academic and research intensive nursing faculties internationally, with strength and expertise in chronicity, health equity, health systems and nursing education (pedagogy, philosophy and history). These areas of excellence permeate our missions in teaching, research and citizenship.
Top priorities over the next few years build on our strengths. We provide students with exceptional learning opportunities and continue to strengthen the quality of academic programs by fostering excellence in all undergraduate and graduate programs. We are committed to excellence in research and scholarship by focusing on infrastructure and mentorship initiatives aimed at enhancing all Faculty of Nursing researchers’ abilities and opportunities. Our initiatives to enhance the integration of teaching, research/scholarship and practice position the Faculty as a leading academic centre of nursing with a credible and influential voice. In addition, we are focused on developing authentic partnerships with Aboriginal and international communities in order to infuse global citizenship into all aspects of academic nursing.
I would be pleased to answer any questions you may have in confidence.
