What Nurses Need to Know About Cannabis

Description

Recreational cannabis was legalized October 17, 2018 in Canada. In a national survey conducted by the Canadian Nurses Association, 9 out of 10 people supported the idea that nurses should be key educators on cannabis use. However, it also showed that less than one-third of nurses felt knowledgeable about providing patient education on cannabis and its use. This raises concerns because all of us are likely to interact with patients using cannabis. This course will give you the opportunity to address the question of what do nurses need to know about cannabis education.

There are three modules in the course that provide information on cannabis legalization and regulation, evidence-based information on pharmacology, health risks associated with cannabis use, and harm reduction strategies towards cannabis use.
