Clinical Academic Colleagues

The appointment to a clinical academic rank confers the privilege and responsibility of being a teacher for the University of Alberta. Clinical academic colleagues are encouraged to indicate their academic rank in correspondence and on their professional letterheads. The Department of Pediatrics values our relationships with clinical colleagues, and recognizes the indispensable contribution they make to our academic mission. These contributions are made primarily through teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students, but also through clinical research, administration, and service to the profession.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry has several resources available to clinical colleagues, including information on promotions and appointments, faculty development, and the annual report form. Visit the Clinical Faculty website for more information.

The University of Alberta offers benefits to clinical colleagues such as eligibility for promotion through the clinical academic ranks, a campus computing ID (CCID), and University of Alberta ONEcard. Further information on these and additional benefits can be found here.
