Faculty Development

The Department of Pediatrics’ Faculty Development Program exists to enhance the ability of individual members to succeed at all stages of their academic careers. Faculty Development promotes the
development of processes and tools required to assist faculty in their transition to academic and clinical life. This includes:

  • Leadership skills
  • Teaching and dissemination of teaching products
  • FEC guidelines and academic promotion procedure (including the process for complaints and appeal)
  • Clinical Colleague promotion procedure
  • Enhance ability to document activities in the appropriate dossier and annual report online (ARO)
  • Support through the promotions process
  • Mentorship opportunities
  • Recognize the contributions and accomplishments of faculty at an annual dinner – including internal awards
Faculty members earn Maintenance of Certification credits through attending the department's weekly Grand Rounds.

The department has also created a series of workshops especially designed for Junior Faculty Development. More information will be available shortly.
