Message From The Chair

Welcome from the Chair, Dr. Ross Tsuyuki

R. Tsuyuki - Chair Pharmacology

Thank you for visiting the Department of Pharmacology.

Pharmacology is a fundamental discipline that touches all medical specialities and society. We are the experts in drug actions and targets, their testing and application to humans and in society. The Department has a rich history of teaching and research, beginning in 1961. Today, the Department includes 15 Faculty Members, 8 Adjunct Faculty, 34 staff and 20 graduate students. This also includes EPICORE Centre and the Consultation and Research Services Platform of the Alberta Strategy for Patient Oriented Research Support Unit (CRS-ABSPORU) - providing research design, methods, data management, biostatistical, and other research support services to clinical and translational researchers.

Our vision is to be international leaders and a key community resource in pharmacology research, education, and training.

Our mission is:
• To be leaders in pharmacology research, from basic studies of drug targets and actions through to translation into clinical use.
• To develop and apply innovative approaches to the education and training of the next generation of pharmacologists.
• To be an authoritative source of information on pharmacology research, education, and drug action for professionals, policymakers, and the broader community

We are educators. We are researchers. And we are collaborators. How can we help you?
