Giving to the Faculty

Letters from Scholarship Recipients

A thank you note from two of our 2013 scholarship awardees

Dear Nicole, Maria and the Class of 2012,

I would like to thank you so much for taking the time and effort to provide the Pharmacy Class of 2012 Experiential Award for the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

I am very grateful to be one of the lucky recipients!

This pharmacy placement was instrumental in helping me attain a very satisfying career as a new pharmacist and I could not be more thankful for the financial aid to support my rotation. We can all identify with the stress of not only securing our pharmacy placements, but coming up with the financial means to make it happen.

I have always admired the dedication and comradely of the pharmacy community, and the Class of 2012 is no exception. Thank you again for sponsoring this award, I will always remember your great generosity.

Sincerely,

Sabrina Phippen

To all donors supporting pharmacy!!

I would like to send a personal thank you for helping to support students through university, which can sometimes be a tough journey. Students often carry a lot of stress due to heavy workloads, demanding schedules, financial debt and expectations of family and friends. Your contribution and donations to student awards truly make a difference to students and help to alleviate some of the stress in their lives.

Personally, because of support from awards sponsors such as you, I was able to accept part-time work that provided a better work experience but paid a smaller wage. Receiving awards meant that I had to work fewer hours enabling me to participate in extracurricular activities which are an important part of the university experience. I was also able to spend more time with friends and family, volunteer in the community and maintain a healthy lifestyle while managing a busy school schedule.

Your generosity will not be forgotten and your kindness is inspirational. Your donations are very much appreciated and add so much value to a student’s educational experience.

Thank you for contributing to student life and for making someone’s life a little easier.
