FoPPS - 01 September 2020

Congratulations to Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences' graduate student, Sams Sadat, supervised by Dr. Afsaneh Lavasanifar, on receiving the CIHR Canada graduate Scholarship - Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements.

This award will enable Sams to continue his research work at the University of Tokyo and International Centre of Nanomedicine, Japan. He hopes that the successful completion of the project will take him one step closer to a new combination therapeutic option for regular to higher stage colorectal cancer and at the same time, for complete remission of PTEN-deficient colorectal cancer.

We also extend our congratulations to our graduate student, Daniela Amaral Silva, supervised by Dr. Raimar Loebenberg and Dr. Neal Davies, on receiving the CIHR Honourable Mention Award from the Canadian Student Health Research Forum held on August 24-28, 2020.
