Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

PharmD for Practicing Pharmacists

Approved in October 2011, the PharmD for Practicing Pharmacists program (formerly known as the post-professional PharmD program) addresses the needs of practicing pharmacists.

In addition to the original full-time pathway, a part-time pathway of the program was launched in January 2016. The part-time pathway utilizes a distance learning format that is designed to meet the needs of part-time, professional students.

The PharmD for Practicing Pharmacists program is integral to the University of Alberta’s commitment to offer opportunities for practicing pharmacists to obtain the PharmD credential, should they chose to do so. The program will continue to be offered to practicing pharmacists until demand diminishes.
