Supplementary Bursaries (SBs) are intended to provide financial aid to students who are experiencing a financial shortfall in the current academic year. They are designed to supplement students' existing funds, and are not intended to fully fund students' education. As each student's shortfall will be ranked against all other bursary applicants, not all students who apply will receive a bursary. SBs range from $100 to $2,000. Funding for the Supplementary Bursary program is provided by private donors and the University of Alberta.

More information and resources on Supplementary Bursaries from University Student Services.

Please Note: Applications for all listed bursaries are made directly through UBEF via the Supplementary Bursary on-line application form.

The supplementary bursary application is now open. Deadline to apply is Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 11:59 p.m. The next application period for Winter 2017 will begin in March.

If these dates fall on a weekend, the deadline will be moved to the Monday immediately following the deadline date. Bursary funds are disbursed annually by the end of March.
