Learn to Play 4-Wall Handball

Handball is fun, easy to learn and is a great off-season conditioner. Great cross-training for football, soccer, field and ice hockey, basketball, volleyball, and all sports where eye/hand/footwork is required. Most suitable for beginners. This course builds cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and balance. Gloves, goggles and balls will be provided.

University of Alberta students pay $10 for an 11 week session.

This course will cover grips, court coverage, footwork, serving and other basic techniques. Most suitable for beginners. All equipment provided, but please wear indoor shoes.

Recreational Runner

 Discover new trails and incorporate flat runs, hills and stairs over a variety of terrains and scenic areas within the city. It is a great way to take an active break during the day and to meet new people.

Salsa Night

A trained instructor will lead a salsa dance lesson from 8:30-10:00PM, then stay for the night to put your new skills to practice and dance the night away. Free, non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

This event is only $5 for University of Alberta students. You must provide a valid ONECard and government issued ID at the event.

 NOTE: You must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

Learn How To Snowshoe

This introductory session will teach you how to put on your snowshoes and take you for a walk in the River Valley.  Dress for the weather, as you will be outside for the full session. Proper footwear for this activity would include warm hiking boots or snow boots. Snowshoes are provided.

Women's Self Defense

Take charge of your own safety and attend these classes. Taught by professionals on the topics of legality, crime awareness and assault prevention you will learn ways to create safe surroundings through awareness and education. These classes do include a dynamic action component that will stress assertiveness and physical self-defence.
