- Arash Bahramian won the Best Student Poster Award at the Canadian Astronomical Society conference in Vancouver.
- Judith Chan was chosen to receive the Best Student Geophysical Poster Presentation award at GeoConvention 2013.
- Abigail Stevens won the Graduate Students' Committee's Best Student Talk Award at the Canadian Astronomical Society conference in Vancouver.
- Aaron Stanton was awarded the Best Student Poster Paper Award at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists' annual meeting.
- Ross Lockwood was awarded the Best Student Presentation Award in the Sensors section at the Photonics North conference.
