Graduate Academic Research Assistant
Dr. Isabel Altamirano-Jimenez, Canada Research Chair in Comparative Indigenous Feminist Studies, is seeking to appoint 1 Graduate Research Assistant, who will work under her direct supervision and will support her research activities. Worth over 25,000$ a year in salary and benefits, this opportunity is available for three years and subject to annual review.
Required qualifications for RA are excellent writing, organizational and communication skills. Prefer someone interested in doing research on Indigenous issues and/or has some professional experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset. Those appointed must be full time graduate students in the Department of Political Science.
Conduct searches and assist in the preparation of literature reviews
Help coordinate the organization of the annual Indigenous Feminisms Workshop and any other public events not specified
Liaise with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations and academics
Update the Indigenous Feminism website
Assist with preparation of written reports and publications
Assist with preparation research funding proposals
Other duties as assigned
