It has been one year since Japan was hit by an M 9.0 earthquake on March 11, 2011. In addition to commemorating the disaster, we hope to inform you of the current situation in Japan and demonstrate the global effort towards recovery, revitalization and the future possibilities for Japan. Prince Takamado Japan Centre and the Japanese Association of Graduate Students at Alberta (JAGSA) are striving to raise awareness about the recovery and to fundraise for Japan.
Come to the TELUS Centre Rm. 236 to hear from our special guest Speaker, Dr. David Welch, from the University of Waterloo and his talk "3/11 One Year Later: Challenges and Opportunities for Japan". This will be followed by a panel discussion by UofA students who have recently visited Japan. Join us afterward for a reception with sushi provided by Mikado!
