Immortal Beauty Haiku Contest

It's your chance to enter this special contest!

26 November 2012

Immortal Beauty, an exhibition running from November 22 to January 26, 2013 at the U of A Museums at Enterprise Square, features outstanding artwork from the University of Alberta Art Collection by master calligrapher Shikō Kataoka. Kataoka's work is inspired by poetry, an important artistic tradition in Japanese culture. You have the opportunity to take part in this tradition by writing your own haiku inspired by the exhibition!

Two first-place winners will be selected: one in the 18 and under category and one in the adult category. Each winner will receive the extraordinary prize of having his or her haiku translated into Japanese and painted in calligraphy by Shikō Kataoka. This original artwork will then be yours to keep!

Contest closes at 4pm on Saturday, December 29, 2012. The two winning authors will be contacted no later than Monday, January 7, 2013. We thank all participants, but only winning authors will be notified.
