The 30th Alberta District Japanese Speech Contest

17 March 2021

It was great pleasure to host the 30th Alberta District Japanese Speech Contest on Sunday, March 7, 2021 online due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Despite the difficult situation, 14 contestants from the University of Calgary, the University of Saskatchewan, and the University of Alberta shared their experiences and thoughts.

At the Beginner category, Ryan Domoslai won the first place and Lavender Wong won the second place. At the Intermediate category, Kelly Ma won the first place. At the Advanced category, Tiffany Chang won the first place and Vivian Liu won the second place. At the Open category, Niran Pon won the first place.

The first place winners from the each of the categories will be invited to compete at the National Japanese Speech Contest online, hosted by the University of British Columbia on March 28, 2021. https://www.cajle.info/programs/speech-contest/njsc/
