Student Service Experience

Access to student services has changed. In March 2020, the University of Alberta transitioned to remote learning in response to public health officials and provincial government health and safety guidelines surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

In response to these changes, the Office of the Dean of Students Assessment Committee will be launching an institutional survey on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, to collect student feedback. 

Why we want to hear from you
We recognize that access to remote student services during the pandemic has had its challenges, both for students and services providers. We want to change that and, as a result, developed a Student Needs Survey to capture your concerns and feedback. Specifically, we - the Office of the Dean of Students along with our campus partners - want to understand your current student service needs during the COVID-19 pandemic and identify how our services can best meet your identified needs - currently and in the future. 

Why your feedback is important to shaping the student service experience
The anonymous feedback you provide can benefit not only you, but your U of A peers and prospective students. It is our commitment that the anonymous information you share will be used to inform remote and in-person student service programming, as well as assist in the assessment and development of current and new student-focused initiatives.

Do I need to enter personal identifying information?
Your survey responses will remain anonymous and confidential at all times. Your results will be securely stored electronically and will only be accessible to members of the evaluation project team. 

What if I start the survey and change my mind?
Your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. All of the questions presented are optional for you to complete. If at any time you want to skip a question, you may do so.

If you no longer want to participate in the survey, you may stop at any time by closing your browser window. 

Please note that your decision on whether or not to participate in this survey will not affect your ability to access any U of A student programs or services.

I submitted my feedback. What now?
In submitting your survey responses, you are consenting to share your anonymous information to various campus groups and stakeholders. These groups will be responsible to review the results and ensure they are shared throughout the process of assessing and developing current and future student-focused initiatives.
