2020 COVID-19 Remote Teaching Award

The transition to remote teaching in response to the COVID-19 pandemic required extraordinary efforts by all of our professors and instructors and the many people who support them. However, some were truly exceptional in what they were able to achieve. In order to recognize these outstanding individuals, the University of Alberta will award 10 (ten) 2020 COVID-19 Remote Teaching Awards to full-time faculty members (staff category A1.1) and full-time Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) (staff category A2.1) who transformed traditional face-to-face courses into remote teaching environments for the Winter 2020 and Fall 2020 terms while exemplifying the University of Alberta’s values - excellence in teaching, creativity and innovation, delivering an intellectually rewarding education environment for all learners, and, above all else, an unwavering commitment to serving the public good in the face of adversity and unprecedented challenges. Each award will come with $1,000 as a token of our appreciation.

Please consider nominating yourself, a professor or instructor, or a colleague using this brief nomination form. We encourage nominations of individuals who have been historically underrepresented at the University of Alberta and within teaching awards including women, visible minorities, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ2S+ persons.

Nominations will be open until January 29, 2021.
