Alberta School of Business

Dr. Joseph Doucet’s current term as Dean of the Alberta School of Business will end on June 30, 2018, and he has indicated he will seek a second term in office.  In accordance with University regulations, a dean review committee has been established.  Committee composition is defined in the Faculty Deans Selection Procedure Appendix A: Dean Selection Committees for Individual Faculties.

Consultation and Feedback

The success of a dean review process relies on a consultative approach, with feedback and input from faculty, staff and students, and key stakeholders of the School. As such, members from the community that are served by the School are invited to share in their opinion on the state of the Alberta School of Business under the leadership of Dean Doucet. The Review Committee asks for your advice and opinion on the leadership needs of the School, the priorities, current issues, the future direction of the School and any other key issues.

All feedback is collected on a consultation form, and may be shared with the Review Committee.

A School Forum will be arranged where Dean Doucet will highlight the School’s accomplishments over his first term as Dean, and provide his vision for a proposed next term. A Town Hall will follow the School Forum, to introduce faculty, staff, students and stakeholders to the members of the Review Committee, receive information about the dean review process and learn about how to get involved in this important endeavor. 

The review of a dean is vital to the success of the School. The views expressed by members of the School, University and wider community are important to the review process.

There will be an opportunity to raise any questions or give comments after the Dean’s presentation, and to ask questions regarding the dean review process. All members of the School are encouraged to attend this event. 

Policy on Recording/Live Streaming Forums and Town Halls

Forums and Town Halls will NOT be video/audio recorded or broadcast live. Forums and Town Halls are not considered "public" events in a dean review process. They are an extension of the review process, which is maintained as a respectful and confidential experience for the Dean. Forums and Town Halls are open to faculty, staff and students who are able to attend, and every effort is made to find suitable times for all to participate.
