Assistant or Associate Professor

The Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Alberta (http://psychiatry.med.ualberta.ca/) invites applications for two full-time contingent tenure-track professorships. One of these positions will be eligible for nomination for a (Tier 2) Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Mental Health, which provides protected time for research within a full-time academic appointment: the Government of Canada established the CRC program (www.chairs.gc.ca) to foster world-class research excellence in Canadian universities. Candidates must have an MD, preference will be given to MD/PhD in an area relevant to psychiatric research and must have at least two years of appropriate experience relevant to clinical translational research in psychiatry. Preference will be given to clinician scientists who are working in addictions and/or child & adolescent psychiatry, and appointments are targeted at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. All candidates should have an excellent record of research accomplishment, including success in competing for external awards at the national level and the ability to mentor research trainees effectively.

Assistant or Associate Professor (closed)

This position will be eligible for nomination for a (Tier 2) Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Mental Health, which provides protected time for research within a full-time academic appointment (www.chairs.gc.ca). Candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) and be trained in any area relevant to clinical translational psychiatric research across the range of CIHR pillar 1-4 research (http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/48801.html). The successful candidate will have an excellent record of accomplishment, including relevant postdoctoral training, publication of primary research articles in high impact peer reviewed journals, success in gaining competitive external awards at the national or international level and the ability to mentor research trainees effectively.
