The Turkey Challenge runs for last two weeks of term in support of the CBC Turkey Drive, which donates proceeds to the Edmonton Food Bank.
There are a number of ways you can contribute.
We welcome donations of items for raffle. Some great past ideas:
- Gift baskets of various themes
- Tickets for plays, sporting events, concerts
- Restaurant gift cards or special tasting events
- Wine or drinks
- Shopping gift cards
- Movie-night packages
The possibilities are endless, so get creative!
We will also be collecting donations for coffee and treats that are provided during the daily "Coffee Time," and all donations will go towards the Turkey Challenge. Coffee is provided by the Department, but if you would like to provide treats to generate more donations, it would be a great way to contribute to the cause and maybe practice your holiday baking skills!
The graduate students will also be organizing the Pie-A-Prof event during the Turkey Challenge, and the lucky "winner" will be pied on the last day of class as usual. Stay tuned for more details.
We have won the Turkey Spirit Award as top corporate team many times over the years. Let's keep this tradition going, remembering those in need during this time, and raise as much as possible for this worthy cause!
