Event: Making Books to Make Readers to Make Converts: Early Protestant Missionary Publishing in Chinese, 1818-1843

Wednesday, September 26, 2018 12-1pm TELUS Centre 131 Presented by Prof. Ryan Dunch

23 September 2018

PTJC are happy to host Asian Studies Brown Bag Series.

We are now planning to expand this to all Asianists, including graduate students. On campus, there are many "groups" that organize lunch-time talks, such as Wirth's European Cafe and CLC's Brown Bag. Such networks are very important for increasing our presence on campus and showcasing academic achievement. We will adopt a similar style to conference presentations (20-25 minute talks, followed by Q&A). You can use this opportunity to practice your papers for conferences or other talks. PTJC will offer a light lunch for these sessions.
This time, Ryan Dunch, Professor of History and Director of Religious Studies is going to share his research with us. All are welcome!
