I am working on developing a Children’s Food Environment and Policies Report Card for Canada. The Report Card will use data about the health of children’s food environments to grade Canada’s progress in creating opportunities for children to enjoy healthy foods.

I could not do what I am doing now without the training I acquired during my PhD. I entered my PhD with a strong background in clinical nutrition, and knew very little about public health nutrition. During my PhD I learned the fundamentals of health promotion and discovered how I could use my skills to develop nutrition policies and programs to improve Canadian’s health and prevent chronic disease. This training transformed my own perspective of the field of nutrition and altered my career trajectory in a very positive way.
