About Me

Teresa completed her B.A. in Speech-Language Pathology at Minot State University in North Dakota and her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of California-Santa Barbara. She earned her PhD. at the University of Alberta in Neuroscience - Psychiatry and went on to complete two post-doctoral fellowships, one in Neurology at the University of Alberta and the second in Speech-Language Pathology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Areas of Interest
Speech, language and cognition in adults with neurological disorders; clinical education and interprofessional collaboration.


Research

Research Interests

Teresa's first line of research focuses on speech, language and cognition in adults with neurological disorders and the factors that contribute to resilience and plasticity. Her second research area is in clinical education and interprofessional collaboration, examining approaches to improve how students are educated to be effective clinicians.
